John Phibbs. FCA.
Proprietor

John specializes in corporate and tax advice. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, John spent several years working in both practice and industry, including time as an insolvency specialist, all of which has given him a valuable insight into the realities of the commercial world. This experience has enabled John to build phibbs-edge into a dynamic firm that specializes in helping businesses, not only with their compliance work, but also to achieve their business goals and objectives. John also advises on tax issues mainly in the areas of to Capital Gains and Inheritance Tax.

Simon Stokes. AAT.
Associate and Audit Manager

Simon joined phibbs-edge in September 2000 and became an Associate in January 2005. In addition to managing our audit department, Simon also oversees our team of Accounts Managers. He is responsible for training and various personnel matters, and is captain of the phibbs-edge football team!

Belinda Brunt. ACA.
Tax Manager

Belinda is a Chartered Accountant and joined phibbs-edge in November 2001. With many years experience, Belinda runs our personal & business tax department. Belinda is also actively involved in trust tax, capital gains & Inheritance tax as well as advising on VAT issues.

Emma Howell. ACA.
Manager

Emma has been a member of the phibbs edge team since 1998. As a Chartered Accountant, she is responsible for a large portfolio of business clients. Emma manages all aspects of accounts preparation, as well as general tax planning and advice. Emma also assists in our increasingly busy personal tax department.

Sarah Chell. AAT.
Manager

Sarah is AAT qualified and an experienced portfolio manager, who oversees annual accounts, management accounts, VAT returns and bookkeeping for her portfolio of clients. Sarah is also our resident Sage expert and an accredited Sage trainer.

Robert Skirvin. FCCA. MAAT.
Manager

As a Chartered Certified Accountant, Robert joined Phibbs Edge in March 2006 to manage a portfolio of corporate clients, including those requiring audit work.

Lisa Chell. AAT.
Manager

Lisa joined phibbs edge in 2003, and manages a portfolio of corporate tax clients. She is involved in preparing accounts, tax and VAT returns. Having qualified as an AAT, Lisa is now training for her ACCA qualification.

Lucy Phibbs.
Receptionist/Head of Administration

As a founding member of the phibbs-edge team, Lucy is in charge of reception and general office administration. Lucy is often the first point of contact for anyone visiting our offices.

Janet Ainsworth.
Payroll supervisor

Janet joined us in July 2006 to head up our expanding payroll department, which offers payroll services to both clients and non-clients. Janet has a wealth of experience in running a busy payroll department having previously been a payroll manager for Fourth Hospitality, which offered payroll services to the hospitality industry.

Mandy Forsyth.
Record Processor

Mandy joined phibbs-edge in April 2005 as an experienced bookkeeper. She runs our processing department and is responsible for the upkeep of the accounting records of many of our clients, using in the main our Sage Bureau accounts systems.

Kerry Southerton.
Probate Expert and New Business Administrator

Kerry joined phibbs-edge in November 2005 from a background in probate. She is responsible for new business development and administration, as well as our registered office and fee protection services. Kerry also heads up our new Probate department.

Jacqui Walton.
Administrator

Jacqui joined phibbs-edge in June 2006, to progress our vision of becoming a paperless office, as well as providing administrative support to our payroll department.

Craig Moore.
Trainee Accountant

Whilst working towards his AAT qualifications, Craig provides accountancy support in the payroll and processing departments, as well as undertaking work in general audit, VAT and accounts preparation.

Matt Phibbs.
Trainee Accountant

Matt joined the firm in January 2005 as a trainee accountant, working toward his AAT qualifications. Matt is also responsible for IT at phibbs-edge.

Associates

Steve Allen. - VAT Associate

Having started his career as a VAT Inspector, Steve left after eight years to become a VAT consultant at Lathams, followed by Ernst & Young. He then joined an independent indirect tax consultancy to form its northern practice, and later decided to form his own business, VAT Solutions (UK) Ltd, with Andrew Needham, also formerly of Ernst & Young. Steve acts as an associate to phibbs-edge, to assist us in providing expert VAT advice to our clients.
